The HSTI Sites may collect both non-public personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable (or ‘aggregated’) information.

Like many sites on the Internet, HSTI websites may use “cookies” to collect information. A “cookie” is a small data file that is transferred to your computer and stored there through your Internet browser software. Cookies allow users to view pages without having to log in repeatedly throughout a session, and can be used to track Aggregated Information. If at any point a user of our website acquires an ID number, the cookie may include this information.
From time to time, HSTI may allow cookies by affiliated companies to be places on HSTI websites. The cookies used by affiliated companies are subject to their own privacy policies, not that of HSTI. For example, these affiliated companies may assist us by providing these services to assist the research and reporting for advertisers and delivery of website technology to HSTI ‘s own websites. Please be assured they do not have access to our cookies.
On some pages of our websites, we may also use action tags, sometimes referred to as web beacons or 1 *1 pixel GIFs, to monitor and assess the effectiveness of promotions and marketing. For example these might be used to track how many users requested more information or signed up for the promotion, so that we can gauge their effectiveness and continue to offer useful promotions to our customers.
At present, we do not sell the information we collect.
We use the PII you provide to us on the HSTI Sites to simplify your connection to services or functions you may be logging on to use. For example, we may use customer email addresses or mailing addresses to send newsletters, surveys and other forms of customer research, updates or other information relating to our various services or to respond to feedback or requests for information. The information you provide as application related to employment opportunities at HSTI may be used to evaluate and process your candidacy for employment. Additionally, some information we collect via online applications for our services may be used to evaluate the availability of our services to your needs. Submitting information on HSTI websites does not automatically signify that you have been admitted to HSTI. Admission is not complete until you meet with a HSTI admissions representative and complete and submit the necessary forms and payments to begin enrollment at a HSTI institution.
In order to provide you with quality service, we may also share your PII or Aggregated Information with vendors who assist in maintaining and improving the HSTI Sites, or who assist us in providing related services. We may also share your PII or Aggregated Information with third party web consultants and vendors that provide services in support of the HSTI Sites.
The HSTI Sites provide various ways in which you may exercise choice as to how, and the extent to which, we may use your personal information. For example, some of our information requests will be optional (those that are required fields will be marked). We certainly respect your choice to not provide certain information.
When you register as a member on the HSTI Sites, we may provide you with the opportunity to specify whether you wish to receive certain types of information such as newsletters or promotional materials regarding billing services, changes in codes, etc. Certain electronic communications may also separately include the opportunity for you to opt out of similar communications in the future. Please note that we reserve the right to send members, providers and producers certain information as required by law, or important information that relates to their relationship with us. We take care not to send you material you have not requested, so please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
We have implemented and maintain physical, administrative and electronic security measures with regard to the HSTI Sites that we hope will prevent unauthorized use. We also maintain physically secured locations for server operations, use technological safeguards such as firewalls, password protection, and encryption, and limit access to sensitive information to those individuals with a legitimate business need to access such information.
